Bayfoos Schedule

Want to come play foosball?

We play on Tuesday and Thursday nights every week, and hold a Saturday tournament once a month. Events are usually held at California Billiards.

Tuesday, 7-11pm: Monster Tournament

Monster Draw Your Partner Tournaments are casual and fun for everyone from beginners to pros. We open the tables at 7 pm, and run the tournament from 8-11pm. During the tournament you get a new partner each round, collecting points when you win or tie a match. Sometimes we’ll start playoffs at 10pm, where the top 8 players face off to determine the overall winner. We charge a $5 table fee and put the tables on open play. The tournament has a $10 entry fee, which is returned to the top players as prizes at the end of the night. Entry is free for first timers.

Thursdays, 8-10pm: Beginner League

One hour practicing and coaching, and one hour of game play. We’re running this every Thursday from Sept 9, 2021 to Oct 28, 2021. We charge a $5 table fee, and put the tables on open play. There is $10 one-time registration fee for the season.

Monthly Saturdays: Double Headers

Once a month we hold a singles tournament and a doubles tournament at California Billiards. These tournaments are more competitive than Tuesday nights. You can bring a partner if you want, or you can take advantage of the Shake-n-Bake advantage and draw a partner.

The Bayfoos Calendar is up-to-date. Reach out to us at bayfoos@gmail.com or at the SF Foos Facebook group.

Safety precautions: Masks and contact tracing information required. We comply with all county health regulations and do our best to keep each other safe.

Summer Points Race Halfway Point

We played three events this past weekend and now we’re at the halfway point for our Bayfoos Summer Points Race. How are things shaping up?

Brian and Mo are in the lead for the $100 grand prize. Both of them have attended the past 6 events, with Brian racking up 24 points and Mo 17. This is still close. On any given night you can rack up 6 points, so anyone could win this.

Vera is currently in the lead for the $50 Expert prize, with 13 points, but this is really competitive. There are at least 10 players who attend regularly within striking distance.

Bharath is currently the leader for the $30 free entry Rookie prize, with 9 points. As with the Expert prize, this is a close race.

We’ve posted the current standings, as well as the schedule and results. Hope to see you at the tournaments! We play every Tuesday at California Billiards in Fremont. The points race finishes up on Saturday, September 25th, with singles and doubles events.

Bayfoos Covid Precautions

We had a scare last week. A player attended a Tuesday night tournament on August 3. A few days later they weren’t feeling well. Their Covid test came back positive. We canceled the August 10 tournament, contacted everyone who had been exposed, and asked people to get tested.

Good news: vaccinations and masking seems to have stopped the spread. Nobody else who was at the tournament has gotten sick. Several of us got tested, and all of the tests came back negative.

We’re going to continue being careful at tournaments. Covid is still spreading in the Bay Area, and we want to be prepared for the next time someone gets exposed at a tournament. Here are the precautions we’re taking.

Before Tournaments

If you’re feeling sick or have had a recent positive Covid test, do not come to a tournament for at least 10 days. CDC guidelines have details about when you can end your quarantine.

If you have been in close contact with someone with Covid symptoms or a positive Covid test, follow CDC guidelines for quarantine.

If you’ve been exposed and are fully vaccinated: we recommend getting tested 3-5 days after exposure. You can still come to tournaments during this period.

If you’ve been exposed and are unvaccinated: do not come to tournaments until 14 days after your last exposure.

During Tournaments

Tournament directors will collect contact information, so that they can notify you if we do have a Covid exposure at the tournament. We recommend installing the CA Notify App to help with contact tracing.

Wear a mask. This is also a county health regulation.

Hand sanitizer is available: use it.

After Tournaments

If you start to feel sick after a tournament (even if you haven’t had a positive Covid test), let the tournament directors know immediately. We’ll notify players of the possible exposure.

If you attended a tournament where there was an exposure, follow up with your other close contacts to let them know.

Most of our players are vaccinated, so we will not automatically cancel the next week’s tournament if there was an exposure. If we do have multiple players get sick, we will cancel events until the outbreak is under control.

Thank you everyone for being cautious. We keep each other safe.
