Building Up To Vegas

We’ve got our schedule for the next few months planned out, leading up the Hall of Fame Classic tournament in Las Vegas. We’ve got events happening at California Billiards in Fremont and Cuetopia in San Jose.

On Tuesday nights in February will be playing at California Billiards. Tables open around 7 pm. For the most fun, check out Casino Night on Feb 1st. $5 entry, tables on free play, and everybody gets a chance to win free drinks or snacks at the bar. For other Tuesdays, tournaments run from 8-11pm.

Pick-up games every Friday night at Cuetopia. Tables open at 6:30. If there is interest, Dana will run a fun format called a Chip Tournament starting at 7:30.

This months double header is Saturday, Feb 26, at California Billiards. Tables open at 2pm, Singles at 3pm, and Doubles at 7pm.

Tues, Feb 22: Monster DYP best 2/3 all night long, Cal Billiards. Tables open at 7, tournament 8-11.

Fri, Feb 25: Pick-Ups at Cuetopia. Tables open at 6:30.

Sat, Feb 26: Double Header at Cal Billiards. Tables open at 2pm, Singles starts at 3pm, Doubles at 7pm.

January Schedule

Happy New Year everyone! Bay Area foosball is ready to rock in 2022. We’ve got January events happening every Tuesday and Friday, plus a Saturday tournament on the 22nd.

Tuesday, January 4th at California Billiards – New Year Kick-Off party starting at 7pm. $5 to play pick-up games all night, plus games and door prizes.

Friday, January 7th at Cuetopia – Pick-up games starting at 7 pm. $5 table fee, tables on open play.

Tuesday, January 11th at California Billiards – Monster DYP tournament, tables open at 7pm, tournament starts at 8. $5 table fee, $10 entry.

Friday, January 14th at Cuetopia – Pick-up games starting at 7 pm. $5 table fee, tables on open play.

Tuesday, January 18th at California Billiards – Monster DYP tournament, tables open at 7pm, tournament starts at 8. $5 table fee, $10 entry.

Friday, January 21st at Cuetopia – Pick-up games starting at 7 pm. $5 table fee, tables on open play.

Saturday, January 22nd at Cuetopia – Saturday tournament! Tables open at 5:30, tournament starts at 6:30.

Tuesday, January 25th at California Billiards – Monster DYP tournament, tables open at 7pm, tournament starts at 8. $5 table fee, $10 entry.

Friday, January 28th at Cuetopia – Pick-up games starting at 7 pm. $5 table fee, tables on open play.

Covid precautions remain in effect. We didn’t have an outbreak in 2021, and we hope to keep it that way in 2022.

New Year Kickoff Jan 4!

We want to start off 2022 with something fun, our New Year Kickoff is booked for Tuesday, January 4th, 8-11pm at California Billiards.

We’ll be playing pick-up games, seeing friends, and having a good time. If you want to spice it up a little bit, we’re going to be giving out poker chips so you can bet on the outcome of pick-up games. There will be prizes for the people who finish the night with the most chips.

$5 table fee, tables will be open, and this event should be a blast for players of all levels. Hope to see you there.

Pro/Am and Bring Tournaments on Nov 20

We’re running two events on November 20th at California Billiards, with $100 added to the pot thanks to Marvelous Marv Puha. Marv is doing what he can to support our up and coming rookie players.

For Pro Am Doubles, Marv is contributing $50 in prize money. For the Shake-n-Bake, the top rookie finishers will split $50 in cash.

Pro Am Doubles

Mixed skill level teams compete. Anything could happen, and playing as an effective team is key to victory.

We’re using the Bayfoos Handicaps to keep things balanced: the handicap rule is Max 5: any two players with handicaps that add up to at most 5 can play together.

Examples: a handicap 5 player (a master) can play with a handicap 0 player (a beginner).

A handicap 4 player (pro) can play with handicap 0 or 1.

Handicap 3 players can play with handicap 0, 1, or 2.

Marv has contributed $50 to the pot, and so far at least 4 pros and masters have signed up to play. This is going to be a great event. Get partnered up soon.

Event starts at 3 pm. Format is double elimination. Entry fees are $10 per player, plus $50 added.

Shake-n-Bake

Bring a partner if you’ve got one, draw a partner if you don’t! We’re using the traditional Bayfoos Shake-n-Bake system.

Draw side players: beginners pay $5 entry, all others $10.

Bring side players: beginners pay $5, handicap 1-2 pay $10, handicap 3+ pay $15.

Event starts at 7 pm. 100% payout, plus $50 to the top rookie finishers in the event.

Table Fees

We’ll charge a $5 table fee for the day, and have the tables open. Tables will open for practice by 2 pm.

$50 Added Handicap Monster DYP

We’re doing another money added event, this time a $50 added Handicap Monster DYP on November 2nd at California Billiards. Let’s break it down:

$50 added: all entry fees go to prize money, plus we’re adding $50. Probably between $200 and $300 in prizes for this event!

Monster DYP: new partners each round from 8-10pm, and then the top 8 players will pair off in the playoffs from 10-11pm. Great format for beginners to meet new players and learn new skills!

Handicaps: we even the playing field with handicaps. The lower ranked team always has to score 7 points to win. The higher ranked team will have to score from 7-10 points, depending on the handicap difference.

Tables open at 7 pm on Nov 2nd at California Billiards, and the tournament will run from 8-11pm. All are welcome! RSVP or ask questions on Facebook.
